Clickbank sees the light
ByThe situation has got worse and worse over the last few months, but finally Clickbank is getting its house in order and it is no longer going to approve the scammy “push button” crap we have been seeing recently.
I am sure you, along with many others watched with increasing disbelief as we saw more and more outlandish claims being made with every product launch.
They did however all seem to have one thing in common, terrible actors!!!
Whether it be an “underground” millionaire travelling in a jet plane and then his limo and then finally ending up in a hotel room with the Air hostess/PA waiting for him in bed, or some other “underground” marketer standing on a balcony in Monte Carlo which was clearly a green screen (It moved at one point for Christs sake) they were all designed to trick people into thinking that a $47 product can bring them that same liefstyle.
One would hope people would know these were just out and out scams, but for those who have yet to make oney online and are suffering from information overlaod and see no light at thened of the tunnel they seemed like the dream ticket.
A product with a cool video of a guy spilling his guts and sharing with you the secret of how he made $20,564.93 in only 3 days and having only pushed a couple of buttons.
But thank goodness the FTC intervened and as a result Clickbank are clamping down on this crap.
With this turn of events now is the time for the “ethical marketer” to come to the fore.
Internet Marketing is a business like any other, and must be treated as such.
These “push button” scams just simply do not work, I emplore anyone who is thinking of buying this kind of product to save their money and when they can get themselves a mentor.
Someone who has already trodden the path and knows the pitfalls that will occur along the journey and can steer you down the right track.
They can help you get the right mindset, plan, set goals, create products, forge jv partnerships, build your own affiliate programs and much, much more.
They will be there for you when you need help and will guide you to the kind of online success these scam sales letters, that are now persona non grata, previously promised.
Treat Internet Marketing seriously, look to build a business and a brand.
Think long term, create your own products and your own style, give great content and offer superb value for money and people will follow you.
Become the kind of marketer that are looking for right now!
One that will help and show others the right way to market!
Good Luck

Great article. The carnage has to stop.
Im so thankful for the straight forward information which you sent to me. I’ve been observing how in a hell they make money online without sweat and hard work. You are right they are selling their product which are all crap. As a beginner, I was shocked to see on my email of so much mails coming to my email address. it’s good that Clickbank have noticed this scam. What I know in internet marketing you have to sell and market your product in ethical way. So the client will purchase your products. Kudos for the A-1 info. God bless.
Thanks Samuel
Yes it took them a while to sort it out, but looks like they are there now.
Glad you liked the post.
Thanks
Anthony
As I was just getting started in IM this crap exploded. It was just like the Nigerian email scams . I could not understand any one falling for either type of scam , but I know that millions was scammed . I had a hard time finding good products to promote. I hope that click bank really cleans house.
Thanks for your great post.
Amos
Hey Amos
You are most welcome, keep looking there is plenty of good stuff out there.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Couldn’t have said it better. I don’t know how many time’s I have got a refund from these type’s of products, yes I will buy and yes I will refund if they are not everything the sales video’s claim they are so why not give full disclosure up front. Someone would have a great customer if they showed me how money is really made online even if it’s just small amounts.
Hi Jim
A fair point if the customer knows what they are getting up front then refunds will be lower.
The problem is these sales letter/videos don’t actually let you know what the product is, because if you knew what they really were you wouldn’t buy.
But they rely on the fact that most customers wont refund becuase they dont want to offend or just can’t be bothered.
Hopefully refunds rates at CB will decrease because the quality will increase, fingers crossed anyway.
Cheers
Anthony
Thank good ness they are finally cracking down on the bad rip off products. I know you have a 60 day refund policy with Clickbank but c’mon some of the creators of some of these scammy launches should be arrested for fraud lol….
Well on a good note the good one’s will prevail in the long run and perhaps this move will weed out a lot of the scamsters and fraudsters.
Good move Clickbank, and good post!
Hi Jay
I completely agree.
Even before this clamping down happened, I was still certain internet Marketing was going to change. It was becoming clear to me people where getting sick and tired of the hype, and are starting to look for real people to follow.
As the internet moves on these products will become less and less and those marketers who are prepared to communicate with their students not only by email but by skype and phone will come to the fore and will create a lot of wealth, not only in monetry terms but with the knowledge they share too.
Thanks for your comments.
Anthony
This is a genuine man speaking with an understanding of what average people have been ill-treated by scammers for many years.
Thankyou for speaking up for us. Thanks also to Clickbank for weeding out these people who have been violating our rights and taking advantage of us for a long time.
I always believe as i have been taught from the Bible, that Good and Truth will always prevail.
Thank you for your kind comment Sualauvi,
I tried for 14 years before I actually started making money online, and now 2 years later I run a 6 figure business and am living the life I always dreamed of.
But I work damn hard.
I am not going to give you the old crap of spending a few minutes working on it and then going down the beach (I live in Newport, have you seen the beach here!!!), but I do get to take my kids to school and pick them up, I go to all my eldest son’s sports events in High School and when my youngest starts representing his school I will go and watch him too.
This to me is far more important than the money and I am sure that goes for many other too.
I know what it feels like to have wasted a lot of money on crap and know exactly how you feel, I have been there many times.
Good luck with your dream

It is so good to see that Clickbank has finally decided to act and clamp down on the unscrupulous people that promise readers on the Internet that they will become successful if they buy their systems that simply do not work. I had been successfully been self Employed for over 30 years until I firstly lost my daughter and then 12 months later my wife to cancer and sold up my Business to allow me the time and money to look after and rear my Daughter’s 4 Children (my Grandchildren). After 12 years, my Grandchildren had grown up and I had the time to get back into a Business in order to earn myself some well needed money, I decided to go into Internet Marketing only to be conned by so many of these supposed successful gurus offering their false hopes to us newbies. They need to be stopped and made to pay for their dishonesty.
Hi Kevin
Thank you for sharing your story, you are an inspiration.
I am sorry to hear of your losses and the “gurus” that took your hard earned money.
Internet Marketing does work, but you definately need a mentor to show you the way, although as you know it can be easy to be conned.
Plenty of research on the net should help you find one you can trust.
Good luck my friend I wish you all the best and hope you find what you are looking for.
Cheers
Anthony
All the gurus say it takes only minutes per day, but they under-report the number of minutes. By my calculations it takes about 375 minutes to turn a private-label article into something you would be proud to post as your own, and about 125 minutes to write your own article from scratch. The idea of posting an article per day on 100 blogs is so optimistic it makes one ill.
I have tried a couple pushbutton products, and none are really worth$ 47.95.
Almost all the products out there work at a tactical level. The programs that seem to work address a strategic level.
What level does your next offer address?
Hi Wolf
Yes you are right, this is a business and take a lot of time, effort and dedication.
The dream the gurus continually push upon us of working a few minutes a day and the rest on a beach is pure nonsense, yet still many fall for it.
Regarding my next project I am looking to do free live webinars and recorded presentations on building a successful business online from the ground up.
For the last 20 years before becoming a full time marketer I worked in marketing and business development and have coached thousands of people to success within their businesses, so am looking to do the same online now too on a large scale.
Thanks for taking time to comment on my blog it is much appreciated.
All the best
Anthony
Great article Anthony.
I like your site.
Waiting for your next article about CB.
Warm regards from Indonesia,

Thanks Trisno
Thanks for your kind comment.

Hey Antony,
Great article, and I couldn’t agree more. It’s about time that all of this happened.
But…
You know, ClickBank go through this whole verification process, to ensure that the sales page and product delivery funnel is acceptable, and contains all of the relevant information…
…but they never bother to check out the product, and decide if it’s worthwhile or not. This, in many ways, invalidates their vigilance.
Don’t ya think? I know it’s a hassle, and there will be people who will say “Well who are THEY to say whether my product is good or bad?”, but that will only be people with bad products.
People with the good products should be happy to have their products inspected, and stand behind ClickBank’s decision, as one of the largest merchants of digital products on the Internet.
My only complaint with ClickBank now is that they have capped pricing of products for new accounts at $75. I have, as you know, a $495 coaching program, but they won’t let me sell it on ClickBank under the new pricing regulations.
I would hope that they introduce a ‘process’ that will allow you to be approved for products over the price of $75.
Cheers for a great post
Marc
Hi Marc, good to hear from you.
It’s a fair point you make. I know your product is a good one and being able to sell it through Clickbank would benefit both them, because they are promoting a top quality coaching session, you, because of the audience it gives and the customer becasue they know they are getting a great product and purchasing through the largest affiliate network on the net, so can purchase with complete piece of mind.
Fingers crossed they see even more light soon!
Thanks again for taking the time to comment on the blog.
Nice post Anthony, and nice blog
You’ve got it in one.. I’m seriously looking forward to what the scammers put on there sales pages in coming months. We recently seen a lot move to Plimius to sell the crap that Clickbank refused and they were quick to ban all “Make Money Online” products. Then again, there is a whole lot more to Internet Marketing than Clickbank.
Great Post,
Kevin Fahey
Hi Kevin
Absolutely right, these people will always find some means by which to get their rubbish to the marketplace.
I guess we’ll just have to keep an eye out and watch with baited breath.
Thanks for the comment.

Hi,
Nice article Anthony …. My opinion is that, now that Clickbank have
taken the ‘right’ road .. vendors should stick with them and turn this
market into what it is supposed to be …. people trying to help others.
That’s right, isn’t it? … people ;publish these things in an effort to pass
on what they know, help other and, hopefully make a few notes doing it?
What is hapening now, on Clickbank should have been the way it was
from the get go but, better late than never, yes?
I too have made many a refund request from Clickbank and, as I see
it, it IS the Safest way to buy anything out there … so, in my opinion,
vendors that DO have legitimate products will keep on using Clickbank
as a way to sell their products … those that ‘need’ to go elsewhere
would be showing themselves up to be what they are.
With regard to the more expensive products (as Marc has mentioned, above)
what about turning it into a monthly paid product? .. would that help? ….
there is always more than one way to do anything … right?
As for me .. I have even more faith in Clickbank now that I have ever had.
Best Regards, D A-L
Hi David
Thanks for the comment.
Yes, hopefully now these “push button” products are one there way out, Clickbank can be the kind of place good marketers sell their products again.
Although Clickbank is probably the best place to get a refund from, unfortunately this cuts both ways and many customers do only buy from there knowing full well they can get a refund with no questions asked, which can be very frustrating for hoest marketers who are just trying to deliver quality for a good price.
But I think that’s a debate for another day
Cheers mate
Very well spoken Anthony. Even though my plate is full on the ‘students’ I still hope people take your advice and steer clear of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. This is a business and should be treated like one. You put effort into and have a passion for your job, then you can excel passed most these losers out there…
I saw an anik singal video recently… claiming to have made 8 million or so in a month. Let me clue you in… If I made 8 million, even in a year.. let alone a month… The FIRST thing i would do is buy some eff-ing contacts and scrap the bent up grandpa glasses.. but who knows, might have been a personal preference.. doubt it though.
Good post Anthony.. Talk soon..
-Rodger
Hi Rodger
Thanks for your comment, much appreciated.
Regarding the 8 million a month, if I was earning that kind of money I wouldn’t sell the secret for only $47 and buy contacts
I know what you teach your students will ensure they find success.
cheers mate.
Thanks for the info – would like to see your source information to read for myself.
It amazes me how many of the videos selling products/servces follow the same exact script and folks do not see through them. And the amount of hype…
Hi Bob
My new source information will be ready in the next few weeks and will be happy and proud to share it with the world with the sincere hope that it makes a difference to a lot of people and helps them build a business and a better life for themselves.
Thanks
Anthony
Hi Anthony,
Newbies and ‘Beyond Newbies’ need an honest spokesman like you! Thanks for that.
Hi Joan
Thank you, very kind of you to say so. I am just trying to call it as I see and I got sick and tired of seeing these “marketers” rip people off by playing on their desperation.
I just really hope people read this blog and the comments and take it all in and believe me and my commentors when we say building an IM business takes hard work and effort like any other business offline.
Good luck in your business.

Anthony
Hey Anthony
I see some familiar stories here. I, too, tried out several of the aforementioned types of programs, and pretty quickly sent back about 99.9% of them. I was typically successful at receiving a refund, but not always. Sometimes, after the refund period had expired, the program just quit working. I do have to say “thank you” to the scammers for one thing; I found out that I’m much more of a “crash and learn” person than I realized. I don’t want someone else to “do it all for me”. I realize now that, for me, the doing is as important as the done.
I’m still a fan of ClickBank (even more so now), and I find that reading some reviews of the product you’re considering buying, along with signing up as a jv partner, will usually tell you “the rest of the story’ since they want to be sure you know how much money you can make promoting their product. Funny, you can actually use their greed against them.
Another good thing that has come from this is my discovery of the Warrior Forum and their WSOs. Good stuff, no matter what your approach to IM, unbeatable prices, and typically the best people in the business.
Thanks for your time.
G
Hey G
Thanks for taking the time to comment, and yes you are right, you have got to do this stuff yourself.
If you are going to run a business you have got to know how it works. Outsourcing plays a part for definate but learn how things work first then you can show outsourcers how to do what you want efficiently.
Good tactic about the jv, in particular look at the mail swipe they give their affiliates, sometimes the hype and “stretching” of the truth they ask people to send out is an eye opener.
There is some great stuff at the Warrior Forum you are right, the big advantage there, is the instant feedback that is openly available and visible to let potential purchaser how the product works.
Thanks again and good luck.
Anthony
This is the best online advice I have seen in a long time. I have been struggling online for quite a while now. Do you know a good mentor that works with ecommerce sites? I sell physical products as well as discount travel through 2 affiliate programs. I also belong to 2 other affiliate programs I would like to get going strong. I really want to get my sites going first then try to build the affiliate programs. Your further advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Glen
Thanks for taking time to comment.
I took a look at your site, looks good, but I have some suggestions to get some more income coming in for you.
Send me an email at anthony@anthonytilley.com and we can chat.

Anthony
Hi Anthony,
I am an affiliate marketer on my own way, I am still learning how to do it by myself. I never bought these scraps, but I am afraid I was promoting them without knowing that they were scraps. So, may be is time for CB to take some responsibility here, because CB endorsed them and allowed them to sell to the public. I do hope CB will post all these scraps-sites and let the public know and hopefully some of them will be arrested even CB should be accountable for this. It’s not enough to say. Hey we are cleaning the house or re-organizing it. If CB was doing its job as it should be, there will be no scraps…don’t you think so? One complaint I have against CB is that I have not sold as per records of CB not even a single piece of ebook or software being an affiliate of CB, since 2 years ago. I work hard promoting my links on whatever available traffic providers. I am really frustrated with CB as an affiliate.
Good info., hope some of them will be implemented.
Hi Anthony
Great post. I do have one concern regarding ClickBank’s new policies – testimonials. I have collected a number of testimonials and video testimonials for an upcoming product. Now ClickBank are asking for written confirmation of all testimonials used. This is going to be a pain. As you know, getting people to take the time out to review one’s products is difficult enough but to then go back to them and ask them to send written confirmation of what they have said is a bummer.
By-the-way, have you got time to review a pre-launch product?
Cheers
Richard
P.S. Yes, I’ve been to Newport ‘beach’ and all the beaches in South Wales – voted the best beaches in the world in the ’60s and then in the ’80s Mrs Thatcher sold all the sand to Scandinavian property developers. There’s only one or two days a year of sun in South Wales to enjoy them anyway!
Hi Richard
Yes this is gonna be an issue, getting people to do one can be difficult and written confirmation adds to their work load.
But yes I am more than pleased to help, just send me a message on Facebook.
Cheers
Anthony
An interesting discussion is worth comment. I think that you should write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo subject but generally people are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
Hi Rex
Plenty more of this kind of stuff to come.
Cheers
Anthony
Hey Anthony,
This is so true!
There’s so much crap out there on Clicbank… In fact, I never believe these sales videos. And that’s a really great point about green screen! I don’t know what they think – I personally think that by creating high value products that actually deliver what they promise will make more money in the long term and even in the short term, because now they get up to 80% (this is insane!) refund rates…
By the way, that was a great interview that we had not that long ago about making money with WSOs, I will be running some free WSOs very soon
Matt Poc
Hey Matt
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Really hope your customers find the interview great value for money. Free WSO’s a great way to build a list.
Cheers
Anthony
This is very good news to hear. I’m trying to start out on a limited budget, and it’s very helpful to only have an honest selection of programs to choose from.
Hi Chris
I hope the changes they have made help you in your business.
All the best
Anthony
This goes to those who are polluting the marketplace with craps.
To: all “bad gurus factories of scams”.
What do you think you’re doing?
Destroying the digital industry?
Please get off! Go somewhere else.
(I apologize for my temper here but one cannot be soft with these thieves they have robbed many people), and damaged affiliates and CB image.
With due respect to others good software designers.
There is high hope that this situation will be over soon and the CB, vendors and affiliates will be again promoting good products to the general public.
Anthony, If you would like to remove my comments do so, but I couldn’t just sit back and do nothing…, thank you for the venue to at least to say something about this issue to those who are involved.
Cheers!
Hey no worries.
Not a lot more I can say here, you said it all my friend.
Cheers
Anthony
